Devin Thomas, Greg Jones, and the Giants emerged triumphant 21-17 over Brian Hoyer and the Patriots with a last minute touchdown drive. Thomas and Jones both saw action on the field for the Giants, but did not record any stats. Hoyer did not see any time at quarterback for the Patriots. This is the first Super Bowl triumph for both wide receiver Devin Thomas, in his fourth year, and linebacker Greg Jones, in his rookie year.

Jones celebrated the victory by proposing to his girlfriend of three years, Mandy Piechowski. "She definitely knows how I feel. A speech wasn’t even needed," Jones told Newark’s Star-Ledger. "Just everything we’ve been through together. She’s been here since Day One and she knew me long before everything else.” Mandy, a former Michigan State basketball player, was a two-time captain and three-time Academic All-Big Ten scholar for the Spartans. Spartan Nation would like to extend its congratulations to the couple and wishes them well.

The heart of Spartan Nation also goes out to Brian Hoyer, a true class act, for coming so close to a Super Bowl win. Spartan Nation wishes him the best of luck in the rest of his career.
