Strengths: In the second quarter of the Notre Dame game the Irish had the ball at the MSU 27 with 5:44 on the clock. They had a first and ten. Adams had smothering coverage on the Irish offensive player he was assigned to cover. He read the play, came off of his player, extended the coverage, and got a red zone interception. Adams, since the moment he came on campus, has been a playmaker. You couldn’t miss it. He has made big plays since the first practice. That is what you want in your main cover corner.

Weakness: Against Penn State there was :59 left in the first half. The Lions had a second and ten at the MSU 38. He played the route perfect, had the interception right in his hands, and dropped it. It was his second easy interception drop of the game. His weakness is that he has such a penchant for big plays that he can miss the easy mundane plays. He has to concentrate on the play at hand and not be thinking about taking off with the ball. When his mind is in it, Adams is the best in the B1G.

Final Analysis: Adams is the only one who can stop himself. His ceiling his high and there is a lot of talk and speculation that with a big season he could leave for the NFL early. If he is concentrating on that, it won’t happen. If he takes it one snap at a time he very well could.
