EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State's 2006 spring football calendar features two open practices in Spartan Stadium, weather permitting: Saturday, April 15 at 12 p.m. EDT and Friday, April 21 at 3:30 p.m. Admission is free for both workouts.

Gates will open at 10:30 a.m. for the April 15 practice. Following the workout, children - ages 12-and-under and accompanied by a parent - will be permitted on the field for a 60-minute autograph session with Spartan players and coaches.

Spartan fans also are invited to attend the final spring scrimmage on April 21, with gates opening at 2:30 p.m.

Fans are reminded that all cameras, camcorders and cell phones are strictly prohibited during the open practices.

With the renovation of the grass practice fields behind the Duffy Daugherty Football Building, the annual youth clinic has been postponed until Saturday, Aug. 19. The grass practice fields are being renovated this spring to better mimic the playing surface in Spartan Stadium. The grass fields will be in prime shape for when the Spartans open preseason football camp on Tuesday, Aug. 8.

Additional details regarding the Aug. 19 youth clinic will be announced this summer.
