Dragons Upend Lugnuts Dayton Plates 12 Runs in Win LANSING- The Dayton Dragons scored seven runs in the first four innings en route to a 12-5 victory over the Lansing Lugnuts before 8,467 fans at Oldsmobile Park Friday night. The two teams split the series 2-2. Dayton (29-33) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning. Habelito Hernandez roped an RBI double down the left field line to make the score 1-0. Then J.D. Reinenger followed suit with two men on and doubled inside the bag at third to plate two runs and push the lead to 3-0. The Dragons scored four more times in the fourth. After the first three batters of the inning reached on a hit by pitch and two singles to load the bases, Josh Holden lifted a sacrifice fly to center field that scored Reininger to extend the lead to 4-0. Mike Dejesus then legged out an infield single and moved to second on a throwing error by Anthony Garibaldi. The error allowed Angel Colon to score to make the score 5-0. Jay Bruce then ripped a single into center field to score Chris Denove and Dejesus, making it a 7-0 game. Lansing got its first run of the game in the fourth frame when Brian Pettway smacked his 10th homer of the year down the third base line to close the gap to 7-1. The Dragons scored another run in the seventh before pushing across four more in the eighth. After Josh Holden's bases loaded single to right made it 9-1, Mike Dejesus cleared the bags with a three run double to finish the Dragons hitting spree at 12-1. The Lugnuts mounted a ninth inning rally, capped off by Yuber Rodriuez's grand slam that finished the scoring at 12-5. Lansing (36-24) will host the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (25-35) for four games beginning Saturday night at Oldsmobile Park. Saturday will be Christian Family Night with LAFCU Fireworks following the game. Reserved and lawn seats are still available for the game. It is scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. first pitch.
