Hello folks!

Thanks again for taking the time to read Spartan Nation.Â

·       Don’t forget to join me each weeknight for Mid-Michigan’s most sports at 6:15 p.m. Monday thru Friday on ABC 53.

·       On Hondo’s House Friday, I am talking Lions football and Tigers baseball and Shannon Browns NBA decision!

·       Lansing native and Spartan Nation favorite John Smoltz (my wife’s third grade boyfriend at St. Gerards is “going to pitch next season for sure” according to a source very close to John. The Braves have not as yet picked up his very affordable 8 million dollar option for next season. I was told last night at Comerica that he would be a “super fit” to have back in Detroit to finish his career by someone close to the situation. I can’t imagine the Braves letting him go if they did I would love to have him back in Michigan.

·       No mistakes or wondering, Albert Pujols is the best player in baseball! I love to watch that guy play baseball, not just offense, jut to watch him play.

·       The fine morons at West Virginia University are jerking around and need to get there crap together quick. Coach Rich Rodriguez’s contract is ready to be upgraded and he wants assurances that they will pay his assistants and make a real commitment to the football program. My source told me this morning that “we certainly cannot be dumb enough to let a second legend leave over our ignorance?” He was referring to of course a former WVU coach that has done all right for himself: Bobby Bowden.

·       The Eagles desperately want to talk to track star Justin Gatlin. I was told by a source that I have with the Eagles who I asked about this after reading a SI comment said: “that is a fact. We would love to get Gatlin here, he is a burner and we think he could make it here.”

·       Props to the Spartan Nation in hockey last night, Ryan Miller lost to Rod BrindA’mour but that makes the Spartan Nation well represented in the NHL finals.

·       Former #1 NBA pick Jay Williams who has spent the last three seasons recovering from a motorcycle accident says he is ready to come back. No the upward rode to getting back is on. We certainly wish him well.

·       Larry “the tool” Brown as I reported months ago is trying to get out of New York and he is trying to take as much of the $50 Million as he can. My source with the Knicks told me that the ownership was livid with Larry for talking to the media earlier this week and telling them he felt like a man on death row awaiting the outcome of his life. This is classic.Â

·       It is only 4 months and 5 days until the MSU vs. UM football game!
