• Monday’s Hondo’s House at 7:30 my guest will be Lions President and CEO Matt Millen for the entire half hour!
• It is 7 months and 8 days until the MSU vs. UM football game.
• Don’t buy into all the Vince Young wonderlic crap. For those of you that are unaware, at the NFL combine, players take this test. It is supposedly a way to tell players intelligence. One question that I was told by someone who took it that was on the test is: “if a paper cost .21 cents and I buy 4, how much do I pay?” I met Vince in Indianapolis last weekend, and he is a smart and personable man. Forget the if's and what’s of his score, he is a football player and that is all that matters.
• The Jet’s want to be in the top 2 picks. They would love to land Jay Cutler who had an incredible combine. That would allow the Jets to trade John Abraham the great DE and get the QB and the Texans could get DA’Brick who they covet!
• Remember this name: Chad Jackson, the Florida WR. He flat out flew at the combine, and I had 2 scouts tell me that he went to number 1 or 2 on their depth sheet.
• I am hearing rumblings from a NFL league source, that there may be on the horizon a CBA deal. Stay tuned for more details! The source said that the NFL may move the free agent signing period to “some time” around the 2nd week of March if this happens.
• The MSU hockey team has a first weekend bye for the CCHA playoffs. Props to coach Comley for all he is doing and look for MSU to get the CCHA title.
• MSU basketball is certainly having issues, but even in the loss on Sunday, I do believe that Izzo did his best coaching job of the season. He benched Davis to start the 2nd and the team came back and got the lead. They just don’t have the depth and they suffered down the stretch.
