Lions practice tempo reflects new attitude

Â
Make no secret about it the club med mentality that Steve Mariucci brought to the Lions is over. Now players are yelled at, corrected and basically “instructed” in shall we say tough terms.Â

Â
No wonder we call head coach Rod Marinelli Sarge with the military background that he shows in the tempo of his practice. “I’ll tell you man, this is like football is supposed to be” is what Roy Williams said to me when talking about the change. “I know one thing, what we did wasn’t working so I love it” is how Dre’ Bly described his feelings.

Â
One Lion even filed a grievance because he didn’t like the way the coached changed the mentality. There is a reason why he had problems before at another team and he won’t make the final roster I can assure you of that.

Â
As the Lions try to change their losing way, we don’t have to wait until September to see those changes. Just look at the guys as the come off the field tired, sweaty and not wanting to play golf and cards.

Â
Way to go Sarge!
