Lugnuts Topple Rattlers, 4-2 Bormaster's Double Lifts Lansing to Win LANSING- Brian Bormaster's two out RBI double to right-center field in the seventh inning put the Lugnuts ahead for good, as Lansing topped the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 4-2 before 9,318 fans at Oldsmobile Park Saturday night. With the score tied at 2-2, Bormaster stood in with a runner at second base and a 3-2 count when he smacked the game winner into the gap to plate Jesus Gonzalez to make the score 3-2. Lansing added an insurance run in the eighth after Anthony Hatch singled home Brian Pettway to push the lead to 4-2. Hatch finished the game 4-for-4 with an RBI. The Timber Rattlers had tied the game in the in fifth inning when Luis Valbuena tripled down the right field line to score both Jairo Hernandez and Jeffrey Dominguez to knot the game at 2-2. The triple erased the possibility for Lansing starter Chi-Hung Cheng to pick up a win. He tossed six effective innings, allowing just two runs on four hits while fanning seven, but did not factor into the decision. Instead Sean Stidfole (5-2) picked up the win in relief, throwing two scoreless innings without allowing a hit. Paul Phillips notched his 11th save of the season for the Lugnuts as well. Lansing (37-24) and Wisconsin (25-37) will play the second game of the series on Sunday afternoon at Oldsmobile Park. Kristian Bell (4-3, 3.99) will take the ball for the Lugnuts. He will be opposed by the Rattlers' Nick Allen (4-0, 2.61). Sunday will be Meijer Kids Day and Pepsi Kids Run the Bases will take place after the game. First pitch is set for 2:05 p.m.
