MSU Close For Washington D.C. Linebacker!

Spartan Nation has recently learned that Washington, DC linebacker Dion Guy of HD Woodson High School has MSU firmly entrenched as his school to beat. Guy is 6’4” tall, weighs almost 220 pounds and runs a 4.6 in the forty yard dash. Guy is seen by most college analysts as a true “sleeper.” Dion Guy is a sleeper no more. He is becoming rather impossible to ignore. Not only because Guy is super athletic (33 inch vertical leap and a 500 lb swat), but he hits like a derailed locomotive. Va Tech recently started to assert themselves in the Dion Guy sweepstakes, but it appears Tech might be a little too late. Michigan State is firmly leading for Dion’s services and could possibly receive an oral commitment in the coming days. Harlon Barnett has done a wonderful job identifying Guy’s talent early before the east-coast recruiting rush is able to persuade Dion to stay closer to home. In addition to Dion’s impressive measurables, comes exceptional lateral quickness. Dion is the type of player that can wreak havoc on opposing offenses with his size and speed coming off the edge. MSU wants their LB’s to run to the ball and create the collision and Dion seems well suited for the role. There will be more information coming about Dion in the next couple days. I will be at Dion’s high school game on September 14th as HD Woodson takes on Good Counsel High School in Olney, Maryland. I will provide the Spartan Nation a full scouting report.
