Detroit, MI…Detroit Red Wings General Manager Ken Holland today announced that the Wings have re-signed forward Tomas Holmstrom to a three-year contract. In keeping with club policy, additional terms of the contract are not available.

Holmstrom is currently in his 11th NHL season, all with Detroit. Holmstrom was the Red Wings 10th -round selection (257th overall) in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. His career totals are 145 goals and 190 assists for 335 poitns in 678 games. Holmstrom has appeared in 93 Stanley Cup playoff games, tallying 27 goals and 27 assists for 54 points.

Holmstrom has reached the 20-goal mark in three of his last four NHL seasons played, including the current 2006-07 campaign as he has 20 goals and 20 assists for 40 points through 56 contests. Props to the Wings!
