Roger Goodell, the NFL's chief operating officer to be new Commissioner

That's right, mark it that you saw it here first. The NFL owners met today in Detroit and I was told by someone very close to the situation that was in attendance that: "it's done."

Now the owners will meet in a couple of weeks in Chicago to vote, but pending some startling revelation he is the guy. I spoke to two others in the NFL and both also confirmed that unless some deep dark secret appears he is the next commissoner. My source at the meeting said: "we are sure he has the votes, so now it is just getting it done and letting a couple people grandstand before the vote."

Congrats to Goodell, this was a good choice for the NFL. This was a safe choice, but it is also a good choice.
