TIGERS AGREE TO TERMS WITH THREE DRAFT SELECTIONS

DETROIT – The Detroit Tigers today announced the club has agreed to terms with lefthanded pitcher Casey Crosby (fifth-round selection) from Kaneland High School in Illinois, shortstop Cale Iorg (sixth-round selection) and lefthanded pitcher Matthew Hoffman (26th-round selection) from Owasso High School in Oklahoma.Â

Crosby posted a 6-2 record and 0.88 ERA, while fanning 92 batters in 63.2 innings during his senior season.Â

Iorg batted .280 (66x236) with 11 doubles, three triples, five home runs, 38 RBI and 15 stolen bases during his freshman season at the University of Alabama in 2005 before spending the last two years on a Morman mission in Lisbon, Portugal.Â

Hoffman finished 8-1 as a senior in 2007, including a three-hit shutout in a 1-0 win over Edmond Memorial High to lead Owasso High School to the school’s ninth state championship.
