Smith Dismissed From Men's Basketball Program

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan men's basketball coach John Beilein announced today (Friday, Dec. 28) junior guard Jerret Smith (Romulus, Mich./Romulus HS) has been dismissed from the Wolverine program.

"We have certain expectations of the student-athletes in our basketball program," said Beilein. "After over a month of evaluation and discussion, our coaching staff has decided that Jerret has not made sufficient effort to meet these expectations. Therefore, it is in the best interest of the future of our basketball program that we move in a different direction."

For his career, Smith played in 65 career games with 13 starts. He has averaged 4.2 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists during his three seasons.
