With win #11, Tigers 71 away from Hondo's prediction!
Hondo S. Carpenter
The Tigers once again won last night driving their record to a very impressive 11-7. That win takes them to second in the division behind the Sox, 1 1/2 games out of first. That said there are some concerns on this ball club.
1) Last night Inge was tossed out at the plate on a nice play from Ichiro. The concern however was "Pudge" standing around and not "coaching" him about sliding. Pudge has never been accused of being a great teammate, but that cost the Tigers a run.
2) They are leaving an abundance of guys on base and that just can't continue. Leyland missed a golden opportunity to play small ball in the fourth and they came away with no runs and they had left 10 guys on base through 7. The Sox won last year by utilizing every opportunity and the Tigers need to do that also.
Isn't it great to be able to complain and pick when they are 4 games over .500?
11-7 puts them that much closer to my prediction of 82!
