GREENSBORO, N.C. – Playing in one of the most competitive tournaments this spring season, the No. 17 Michigan State women’s golf team is tied for ninth after one round of the Bryan National Collegiate following a round of 305 (+17) on Friday. The elite 17-team tournament, which features 13 schools ranked in the Golfweek Top 50, is being held at the Bryan Park Champions Course.

No. 14 Tennessee currently leads the field with an even-par 288.

Aimee Neff and Caroline Powers each shot a 2-over 74 to pace the Spartans on Friday. Neff (37-37) carded three birdies on the day, while Powers (37-37) had two. The pair is tied for 15th on the individual leaderboard.

Junior Lindsey Solberg is tied for 33rd after firing a 4-over 76 (39-37). Senior Natalie Brehm rounded out the team scoring for the first round with an 81 (38-43).

Freshman Christine Meier recorded an 86 (42-44).
