Good, Bad, and Ugly Podcast Covering Michigan State Athletics Episode XV

Let's take a deep-dive in Michigan State athletics with our latest episode of the Good, Bad and Ugly podcast featuring Chuck Grenier.

Today, Spartan Nation brought in the legendary high school football and basketball coach Chuck Grenier to discuss Michigan State athletics' latest news.

With fall camp underway for the Spartans, a lot has been said about the new coaching staff, but one word, in particular, came to mind for Grenier: enthusiasm.

During the Mark Dantonio era, when Pat Narduzzi coached the defense, fans never had to question whether the team would be 'pumped up' for a game, regardless of who they played.

Grenier feels the same way about new defensive coordinator Scottie Hazelton; a guy bringing high energy and motivation to that side of the ball.

But, what will the offense look like?

In the words of Jay Johnson MSU wants to be more than just balanced.

"I want to be as multiple as we can in how we present things, but yet our guys need to play at a high level because obviously they're going against some great talented guys here, and they have to be able to make a play. We have to put them in a position to make plays," said Johnson.

However, it all starts with Mel Tucker, the new head coach, and his ability to get the Spartans back to where they want to be.
