'We Didn't Play to Our Standard' Says Tigers OL Javon Foster on Tennessee Loss

Despite the offense looking the best it has all season, Javon Foster doesn't believe the Tigers played to a good standard.

There weren't many people who gave the Missouri Tigers a chance against the Tennessee Volunteers, and one look at the final scoreboard might lead one to believe that assumption was correct.

After all, a 66-24 blowout which the Tigers were outgained 724 yards to 389 doesn't look remotely close on the box score. However, while the final score was not close, the Tigers only trailed the Volunteers by four points in the third quarter.

Then, the floodgates opened and they simply could not keep up with a potent Volunteers offense. Despite that, though, Tigers' offensive lineman Javon Foster had a different take away from the game.

"We didn't play to our standard," Foster said. "We did move the ball some but that still wasn't good enough. We have to be able to play to our standard, and that wasn't our standard, honestly."

"I feel like we could have gave them a lot better run and actually won the game if we would have played to our standard."

The Tigers offense looked the best they have all season in the loss to Tennessee, and seemed to finally have turned a corner on that side of the ball. If they can keep that momentum going in their final two games and into the offseason, then something special could be brewing in Missouri.
