Five-star big man Makur Maker shuns big-name programs, commits to HBCU

After taking an official visit to Howard last winter, five-star big man Makur Maker talked about "changing the narrative" when it came to top players like himself attending a Historically Black College or University instead of an elite national program.

Saturday, the 6-foot-11 native of Kenya -- whose family is from Sudan -- did exactly that by shunning Kentucky, UCLA, Memphis and others to commit to Howard.

In doing so, he becomes the highest-ranked prospect ever to head to an HBCU.
