VA Tech's Fuente on NC State Game: 'I Hope We Are Able to Play'
With a season opening win against Wake Forest already to its credit, the NC State football team has turned its attention to this week's scheduled game at Virginia Tech.
It's the game that was originally supposed to be the Wolfpack's opener on Sept. 12 before being pushed back two weeks when State's preseason camp was shut down for eight days because of COVID-19 outbreak.
Now, however, it's the Hokies' battle with the coronavirus that could potentially affect the matchup.
Tech's game against Virginia on Saturday was postponed because of its own COVID-19 outbreak. And from the sound of coach Justin Fuente on Monday, there's a real that Saturday's game against State could be headed for a similar fate.
“I hope we are able to play,” Fuente said Monday during his regular weekly media briefing.

Can Hokies make it to kickoff Saturday vs. N.C. State? “I hope we are able to play,” coach Justin Fuente says.
“We will not have a full roster," Fuente said Monday morning. Fuente added there were three more coronavirus tests to help determine the status of both currently active players and coaches on his team, and those who have been forced to quarantine.
