Nebraska men’s basketball will try to stay undefeated in the first week of the season tonight.

The 1-0 Huskers host 0-1 Omaha at 7 p.m. at Pinnacle Bank Arena. The two teams have not met since 2014. Nebraska hosts a 4-0 all-time lead in the series.

Nebraska is coming off a 79-66 victory over Maine. Lincoln native Sam Griesel led the scoring with 22 points, adding nine rebounds and three assists. Rebounding was a key factor as the Huskers won that battle 44-27.

Omaha fell 89-64 at No. 5 Kansas in their season opener Monday. The deficit was single digits in the second half before the Jayhawks pulled away. The Mavs feature seven in-state players, including former Husker Akol Arop.

Tonight's game is not televised but will be available online at B1G Plus with Jessica Coody and former Husker and NBA standout Erick Strickland on the call.

The Huskers Radio Network will have coverage beginning at 6 p.m., with Kent Pavelka and Jake Muhlheisen on the call. Coverage can be heard on affiliates across the state, including in Lincoln on 1400 AM and 99.3 FM KLIN.
