A battle of top 10 teams Wednesday with the Big Ten Conference lead on the line went the way it has several times in recent years: for Wisconsin.

The No. 3 Badgers (18-1, 10-1 Big Ten) swept No. 6 Nebraska (16-4, 10-1 Big Ten) 26-24, 25-19, 25-23 to take over the top spot in the conference. Wisconsin has swept Nebraska in their last four matches and has won the last six meetings.

Nebraska was held to .148 hitting while Wisconsin tallied .229. A big reason for the Badgers' advantage was double-digit kills from Anna Smrek and Dana Rettke, with Smrek hitting .647.

No Huskers reached double figures for kills, as Madi Kubik, Lindsay Krause, and Lauren Stivrins each notched nine. Kayla Kaffey had eight kills to got with a match-high five blocks.
