Notre Dame went into the 2020 recruiting cycle needing size, and with the commitment of Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic forward Matt Zona the Irish have done that.

The 6-8, 220-pound Zona made an official visit to Notre Dame this past weekend and announced his commitment to the Irish tonight.

Zona is the second big man to commit to Notre Dame this month, joining Philadelphia (Pa.) Imhotep Charter forward Elijah Taylor, who committed to the Irish on September 19th.

Both Zona and Taylor are consensus three-star recruits.

Zona had offers from Vanderbilt, Penn State, Rutgers, Penn, Yale, Brown, St. Joseph's, Hofstra and others.
