Notre Dame and Duke face off tonight at 7:30 PM ET on the ACC Network.

We'll have all the updates here in the Game Chat, and of course we'll have plenty of pre-game, in-game and post-game discussion.

9:44 PM Update: Irish respond in the third quarter. After the defense picked off a Duke pass, the Notre Dame offense went 70 yards for a touchdown to make it 28-7. Book hit Claypool on a slant for 23 yards and on a post-corner on the next snap for a 35-yard gain to set up the touchdown, a 6-yard slide throw to Finke.

9:37 PM Update: Duke converts a fake punt on the opening drive of the third quarter thanks to a holding on Notre Dame. On the next play, cornerback Troy Pride Jr. picks off a Duke pass to give the Irish the ball.

9:12 PM Update: The Book interception doesn't hurt the Irish as the defense forces a long field goal attempt that was missed. Notre Dame takes a 21-7 lead into the halftime break.

9:02 PM Update: Book throws an interception to give Duke the ball at midfield with 2:07 left in the second quarter.

8:57 PM Update: Duke turns a Notre Dame penalty and short punt into a 29-yard touchdown pass to make it 21-7 with 3:17 left in the second quarter.

8:54 PM Update: A holding penalty on OL Trevor Ruhland negated a long reception from Chris Finke. Duke ended the Irish drive by forcing Book to get rid of the ball quickly. Duke brought three away from Notre Dame's slide protection, which tells me the Blue Devils had an idea that Notre Dame would slide into the boundary on that snap.

8:38 PM Update: Duke has an excellent defensive line, and Notre Dame has used the quarterback run off read plays to attack the line. We have rarely seen that from the offense in 2019, and that wrinkle has really kept Duke on its heels, which is allowing the Irish OL to get a push and open up run plays. Notre Dame currently has 164 rushing yards.

8:36 PM Update: Irish take a 21-0 lead thanks to a 45-yard run by Book on a read play that set up a 2-yard touchdown run from sophomore C'Bo Flemister.

8:30 PM Update: Notre Dame has forced a Duke three-and-out on each of its first five possessions. The Irish defensive line has completely dominated thus far in the game. The interior players have been especially good, but on third-down it was a combination of Ademilola inside and DE Julian Okwara having a strong outside contain rush to force an incomplete pass on a rollout pass.

8:21 PM Update: Notre Dame defense forces its third-straight three-and-out. Freshman S Kyle Hamilton had a great open-field tackle on a cutback run and on third-down senior S Alohi Gilman had an excellent tackle in pursuit on a screen to end the drive.

8:14 PM Update: First quarter ends with Notre Dame up 14-0 and driving. Irish will face a 3rd-and-10 at the Duke 49-yard line when the second quarter begins.

8:04 PM Update: Notre Dame goes up 14-0 on a 7-yard touchdown pass from Book to Chase Claypool. Duke went Cover 0 (all man) and Claypool had an excellent release, getting wide open on the slant route. Book got the ball out quickly to beat the blitz and with the throw to Claypool.

7:57 PM Update: Notre Dame forces a quick Duke three-and-out. On 3rd-and-2, Notre Dame executes an impressive run stunt to blow up the play. LB Asmar Bilal crashed the line of scrimmage, and DE Jamir Jones and DT Jayson Ademilola executed a quick stunt that allowed Jones to get penetration, and Ademilola quickly got around the outside and got on the back for the run stunt. Defense is playing very well.

7:52 PM Update: Notre Dame takes a 7-0 lead on an 18-yard touchdown pass from Ian Book to Chris Finke. Strong play call and execution. Notre Dame ran off the safety with a seam from TE Cole Kmet and isolated the linebacker. When the LB stayed shallow, Book hit Finke on a deep in cut and Finke went in for the score.

7:25 PM Update: Sophomore wide receiver Braden Lenzy did not travel for this game.
