Notre Dame and Navy square off today at 2:30 PM (Eastern) on NBC. The No. 16 ranked Fighting Irish have a chance to boost their New Year's Six Bowl resume with a victory over the No. 23 Midshipmen.

Throughout the game I will post analysis and observations in this story. Below, Notre Dame fans I welcome you to talk about the matchup, talk about the game and share your thoughts, opinions and analysis about the game.

Or, you can talk about other games!

5:56 PM Update: Notre Dame earns a 52-20 victory over Navy. Here are the GAME OBSERVATIONS of the Irish offense.

4:43 PM Update: Sophomore DT Jayson Ademilola will not return to the game after coming off in the second quarter with a knee injury. According to a source it appears to be nothing more than a bruise, but with the Irish up big it looks like the staff will wisely choose to keep him on the sideline for the remainder of the game.

4:42 PM Update: The Irish defense forces a Navy punt to start the third quarter. The offense responds with a 7-play, 78-yard touchdown drive - with all the yards coming through the air. The final 20 yards was a Book to Claypool hookup for a score thanks to a brilliant catch from the veteran wideout. Irish lead 45-3.

4:00 PM Update: RB Tony Jones Jr. scores from 2 yards out to give Notre Dame a 38-0 lead late in the second quarter.

3:48 PM Update: Junior placekicker Jonathan Doerer puts Notre Dame up 31-0 with a 32-yard field goal in the second quarter.

3:41 PM Update: Notre Dame stops Navy on fourth-down. The Midshipmen ran an off-tackle option play but Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah forced a bounce by the quarterback, and safety Kyle Hamilton showed tremendous range to tackle Malcolm Perry for a loss. Irish take over at the Navy 43-yard line.

3:36 PM Update: A block in the back negates a Chris Finke punt return TD, but the Irish offense needed just one play to go 70 yards for a touchdown. Book hit sophomore Braden Lenzy over the top on a post route for the score. Irish now lead 28-0.

3:30 PM Update: Sophomore DT Jayson Ademilola was helped off the field a play after making a big tackle for loss. His knee was rolled up on from the backside.

3:24 PM Update: The Irish offense turns the Navy turnover into a touchdown, as Book and Claypool connect twice, with the final 3 yards coming on a back shoulder fade that got Claypool into the end zone for the third time in the game. Notre Dame now leads 21-0.

3:21 PM Update: Another great play by DE Khalid Kareem forces another Navy fumble. Irish offense takes over at the Navy 39-yard line.

3:11 PM Update: Notre Dame scores on just two plays to take a 14-0 lead. The 47-yard connection from Book to Claypool was a tremendous play call by Long. Claypool started as the No. 1 receiver to the left but ND motioned TE Tommy Tremble outside and the corner went outside with Tremble. That left Claypool one-on-one with a linebacker on a seam route. As soon as Book saw the free safety go away from Claypool he went to the seam for a TD. Great play call, great execution.

3:05 PM Update: Navy drove into Notre Dame territory, but on an attempted reverse play, backside DE Khalid Kareem hit the QB from behind and forced a fumble that was recovered by Asmar Bilal to give the Irish the football.

2:50 PM Update: Notre Dame takes its first drive down the field for a touchdown that covers 75 yards and takes 5:21 off the clock. Chase Claypool caught two passes for 30 yards on the drive. His 7-yard touchdown came after a motion to the boundary that got him isolated on a cross in man coverage, and Claypool won that matchup. Notre Dame converted a 4th-and-1 on the drive.

QB Ian Book went 3-4 for 44 yards and a touchdown through the air on the opening drive and also added 17 rushing yards, including a 15-yard gain on 3rd-and-16 that set up the fourth-down conversion.

2:41 PM Update: Navy won the toss and deferred. Notre Dame will receive the ball to start the game. Alohi Gilman were Chris Finke are the only Notre Dame captains at midfield for the coin toss.

2:14 PM Update: I expect Shaun Crawford to start at corner today based on the option offense they are facing and what we saw in pre-game.

2:05 PM Update: Sophomore DE Justin Ademilola is expected to play a much bigger role today, but according to a source, he woke up this morning with some back issues and his status is uncertain at this time.
