On The Lack Of Podcasts .....
I've been getting a lot of people asking me about the podcasts, which is a good thing because it means people think about them and miss them.
There's a reason we haven't had them in three weeks, and I wanted to be open about it now that things are getting a bit better.
For the last three weeks I've been dealing with some health problems that have made it hard to breath. In the last couple podcasts we did it was very hard for me to make it through to the end from a breathing standpoint. I've done a few radio interviews in that time and by the time those short sports were over I had a hard time catching my breath, and often I'd have to mute myself while they were asking questions because I was having to try and catch my breath.
I've had a COVID-19 test that came back negative, I've had an EKG, a stress test and a battery of tests and they can't figure out what is going on. I have one final test today, and hopefully they can find out what is going on.
The good news is the last week I have been feeling better. I went on vacation last week and by the end of the week my breathing was much better and I could talk for longer periods of time without getting winded. I did two radio interviews this week, and while my voice sounded off I didn't have problems catching my breath and they didn't wipe me out afterwards, which is a great sign.
So that means I'm ready for the podcasts to come back!!
The good news with all of this is it has allowed the team at Irish Breakdown to better prepare itself for really building up our podcast situation. Vince DeDario, my co-host for the IB podcasts, is going to take a more active role in leading them as we get closer to the season. We are ready to start incorporating Mason and Nathan, who I think are doing a great job, into a regular, weekly schedule with the podcasts.
We are going to try and do a podcast today, assuming I can work it around my two doctors visits, but we will definitely do a podcast Monday, and we are going to get back on a regular schedule with at least three podcasts per week.
Your patience and desire for the podcasts is very, very much appreciated! The ACC news is exciting b/c it makes it seem more and more likely that we will be having football in 2020!!
