Staff - I am thrilled with the Diggs commitment and really like him as a player.
Now that he has committed, I am curious how you would approach continuing to recruit other backs in this class like Edwards, McCaskill etc. On the one hand, numbers are a bit tight in this class and we don’t really need a second back. On the other hand, it is critical to have a back in this class. While none of us have any reason to doubt Diggs will sign, it is still a young man who committed without visiting and talked openly previously about wanting to visit other schools (and I certainly don’t knock him for that). I would think you keep recruiting those other guys also but curious your thoughts.

Donovan Edwards is the kind of player the staff SHOULD continue to recruit. Will they? I doubt it, but they absolutely should. Definite no on McCaskill.

Great coaching staffs don't ever assume anything, and that includes that everyone will sign. That's why you should never truly shut down recruiting anywhere if we're being honest.

Imagine what the 2020 OL class would have looked like if the staff stayed in Jimmy Christ, for example.

The staff will still be lightly recruiting other backs, but you are correct about numbers being tight. Especially with Notre Dame still being heavily linked to 2021 TE Mitchell Evans and 2021 OT Rocco Spindler.

There is no reason to doubt Diggs will sign but anything can happen in recruiting.
