Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Rutgers Scarlet Knights Score Predictions

The Ohio State Buckeyes have never lost to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in nine head-to-head games.

The Ohio State Buckeyes trailed against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights for the first time ever in the nine-game head-to-head series last season, capitalizing on wide receiver Emeka Egbuka's muffed punt.

It was a small blemish in an otherwise one-sided series between Ohio State and Rutgers, as the Buckeyes have averaged 53 points in their nine victories over the Scarlet Knights, including a four-game stretch from 2015-18 in which they outscored them 215-10.

Will this year be any different? Here are the BuckeyesNow staff score predictions for Ohio State's Nov. 4 matchup against Rutgers at SHI Stadium in Piscataway, NJ.

Ohio State's defensive game plan needs to be limiting Rutgers quarterback Gavin Wimsatt. If it can do that and run the football effectively, the Buckeyes will cruise.

There will likely be a pregame reunion between brothers in Ohio State cornerback Davison Igbinosun and Rutgers safety Desmond Igbinosun. I think when the two return home to Union, NJ. for the holiday season, Davison will have bragging rights.

Ohio State 48, Rutgers 10

Rutgers puts together a veteran team every year in an attempt to defeat Ohio State, and every year it seems to be a good matchup on paper. However, when the final whistle blows, the scoreboard is more than lopsided. I have learned my lesson from last year about predicting this to be a close game.

Ohio State 59, Rutgers 6

Halloween was four days before Saturday's showdown. No one's tricking Ohio State and it's a treat that the program can likely take its foot off the gas pedal before meeting Michigan State at home.

Ohio State 45, Rutgers 9
