Peyton Houston has been to Oklahoma a lot lately.

There’s apparently a lot for the 2027 quarterback prospect to like.

Houston just finished his sophomore year at Evangel Christian in Shreveport, but he’s one of the hottest young QBs in the country — and he has a thing for Brent Venables and the Sooners.

“It’s different, for sure,” Houston told Sooners On SI on Thursday after his camp performance. “It’s a great atmosphere. I’m ready to see what this new atmosphere looks like with the new coaching staff, too.”

As a sophomore at Evangel Christian Academy, Houston threw for 4,480 yards, 38 touchdowns and six interceptions on 70 percent passing last year. He also rushed for 660 yards and seven touchdowns.

247Sports has Houston ranked as the No. 199 overall prospect in the 2027 class and the No. 14 quarterback. Houston is listed at 5-foot-11 and 198 pounds.

This was Houston’s first prolonged on-field exposure to new offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Ben Arbuckle.

Houston told Sooners On SI that he leaves this year’s camp with plenty of things to get better at in the future.

“Right now I’m working on tightening up my mechanics, getting a quicker release,” Houston said. “I always work on getting bigger, stronger, faster.”
