OXFORD, Miss. -- 247Sports released rankings for the 25 greatest programs in college football on Monday and the Ole Miss Rebels made the cut.

The rankings were created by a formula that accurately ranked the nation's top programs from an all-time perspective, utilizing every final AP Top 25 Poll since 1936.

Every No. 1 ranked team earns 25 points, the No. 2 team receives 24 points and the point total decreases as you go down the order.

Let's see where Ole Miss ranks among the 25 most outstanding programs in college football, based on AP Poll finishes since 1936.

The Rebels were named the No. 24 program in the nation with a point total of 362. 247Sports mentioned in an excerpt that Ole Miss made its way into the rankings thanks to the recent success it has had under coach Lane Kiffin.

"Ole Miss was coming off its best regular season in program history after winning 10 games thanks to the perfect pairing of quarterback Matt Corral and Lane Kiffin and started the 2022 campaign 7-0 before a disappointing final month."

While Ole Miss ended its 2022 season on a sour note, there is no denying that Kiffin has boosted the program's stock since arriving on campus in 2020. Kiffin has posted a 23-13 record with the Rebels, has led the team to three straight bowl appearances, and has turned Oxford into a premier destination in the NCAA Transfer Portal.
