COLLEGE STATION - Texas A&M wanted to make a statement Saturday night in Oxford against Ole Miss. While it wasn't pretty, the Aggies were able to hold on late and collect a 24-17 victory over the Rebels.

Kellen Mond struggled on offense, throwing a pair of interceptions in the first half. Part of that could be blamed on the offensive line and their inability to maintain a block against Ole Miss' front seven. Meanwhile, freshman running back Isaiah Spiller finally showed his potential with a 78-yard performance, scoring a late 22-yard touchdown to give A&M a 24-14 lead.

The Aggies defense impressed overall against the Rebels' run offense. Justin Madubuike stepped up, blocking a 51-yard field goal attempt while Buddy Johnson return a 61-yard fumble to give the Aggies the lead in the third quarter. Overall, it was a win that would set the Aggies back on a positive note heading into the second half of the season.

There still are questions that need to be answered about the Texas A&M roster moving forward. Can the offensive continue to allow Mond to be pressured? Is the run game finally going to be relevant? What else can Jimbo Fisher fix to prove they are contenders?
