Aggies CB Blades leaves game with shoulder injury
COLLEGE STATION - Texas A&M has dealt with multiple injuries in the secondary, but Saturday could have been the worst of all.
Junior cornerback Elijah Blades would leave the game early with a shoulder injury. During the middle of the first quarter, Blades would break up a pass from Mississippi State quarterback Garrett Shrader deep downfield. The cornerback would end the play but would fall on the ground clenching his shoulder.
Blades would remain on the ground for several minutes, needing the trainer's assistance to help him off the field. His status is questionable to return.
One of the premier cover cornerbacks for the Aggies, Blades shined last week at Ole Miss. The JuCo transfer would cause a sack that would lead to a 62-yard touchdown return from linebacker Buddy Johnson. Before the injury, Blades has collected three total tackles on two drives.
