Today at the press conference head coach, Sonny Dykes, approached the media about Early Signing Day. He talked about his first eight commits that all signed. Coach Dykes was very adamant about having quality players sign than a quantity of players. With the first eight players TCU has signed so far, this class looks to have some promising talent once the players develop and grow in their game. In the years to come, TCU will be that force of a team again not to be reckoned with. Coach Dykes discussed NIL and the transfer portal as recruitment season continues. Coach stated, “I think you saw some teams across the country really benefit from announcing NIL deals, especially in specific positions of need…it certainly impacted some of the guys we were recruiting.” This is proven that Coach Dykes is adapted to the new era of football and is willing to help his players out.

Coach Dykes also stated this about his current players, “The day after Christmas, my wife and I will get in the car and go visit about 30 of our current players…that will be important for building trust.”

Coach wants to get to know his current players so that he can get TCU back rolling in the right direction.

Coach Dykes stated, “We could’ve signed 25 players. That wouldn’t have been a hard thing for us to do. What we chose to do was sign 10, 11, or even 12 players and then sit and wait…our philosophy at TCU is to not reach on players.”

Coach is putting together the right pieces to make sure players are coming into an excellent situation to grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
