BREAKING: KJ Lacey Commits To Texas

2025 Tennessee Volunteers quarterback target KJ Lacey has committed the Texas Longhorns, a future SEC school.

The Tennessee Volunteers will have to narrow their focus at quarterback after KJ Lacey committed to Texas on Saturday afternoon. The Vols offered the Alabama native back in late January right after Lacey had been offered by a couple of other SEC schools. Lacey had a visit scheduled in Knoxville in June but his recruitment ultimately didn't get that far as he commits to the Longhorns right after attending their camp.

Lacey may have the best muscle twitch of any 2025 signal caller. His movements are compact and efficient, allowing him to manipulate the pocket at a smaller stature. His natural arm talent and ball placement were evident when watching him work at the Elite 11 regionals in Carrollton, Georgia, and he has the chance to be special in college. Lacey is currently listed as the number 8 quarterback prospect in the 2025 class according to 247Sports.

With Lacey off the board, the Vols will zone in on both George MacIntyre and Deuce Knight. Their priority is still the in-state quarterback in MacIntyre who has been on the Vols radar since he was a freshman. After unofficially visiting Tennessee in April, MacIntyre will take his official visit to campus next weekend. MacIntyre is currently the number 15 overall player in the class and the number 2 quarterback. Knight still remains an option for the Vols as well as he visited Knoxville unofficially back in late March.
