From the Big 12 Conference

IRVING, Texas – Texas kicker Cameron Dicker was named the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. It is the third time the Longhorn sophomore has been named the league’s Special Teams Player of the Week in his career, and the first instance this season.

Dicker, an Austin, Texas native, made two field goals (39 yards, 33 yards) against Kansas last weekend, including the game-winning 33-yard kick as time expired to cap Texas’ 50-48 win over Kansas. It was Texas’ eighth last-second victory in school history, and the Longhorns’ first since 2011, when Justin Tucker booted a 40-yard field goal as time expired to push the UT past Texas A&M, 27-25. Dicker’s clutch kick was the second game-winning kick of his career, with the first coming on a 40-yard effort that gave Texas a 48-45 win over then-No. 7 Oklahoma in the 2018 AT&T Red River Showdown.

Saturday marked Dicker’s ninth career game with multiple field goals, and his third such instance this season. The sophomore also recorded six touchbacks on eight kickoffs and was 6-for-6 on PATs. His 12-point tally (2/2 FG, 6/6 PAT) led all Big 12 kickers last week, and he was the league’s only kicker to convert multiple field goals without missing.

Dicker is the third Longhorn to receive one of the Big 12’s weekly honors this season. Senior WR Devin Duvernay was named the Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 9 following a career day against No. 6 LSU, and freshman QB/RB Roschon Johnson was named the Newcomer of the Week on Oct. 7 after a 121-yard rushing effort on the road against West Virginia.
