Texas got some good news on the injury front this week as cornerback Jalen Green has returned to team workouts.

It's still unknown if Green - who suffered a dislocated shoulder against Oklahoma State -  will be ready to play this weekend against TCU yet.

"We will see how he handles some contact tomorrow in practice on that shoulder," Herman said on Monday.

It's good news for a secondary that is in need of a boost. The Longhorns gave up 48 points and 310 yards through the air to Kansas this past weekend in a game that was far too close for comfort for most Texas fans.

Green has 14 tackles and four passes broken up this season and was considered Texas' most consistent cornerback coming into the season by the coaching staff.

Though Anthony Cook and D'Shawn Jamison have both filled in admirably - particularly Jamison who has three interceptions - Green's presence would be a stabilizing force for the team.

Herman usually gives a second injury updated during his Thursday press conference at which time Green's status for this week will become more clear.
