The Texas Longhorns came in at No. 19 in the latest College Football Playoff Poll following a win over then-No. 16 Kansas State.

The Longhorns are 6-3 with a win over current No. 22 Oklahoma State on their resume.

Texas rose as high as No. 14 in last year's rankings, the first year the Longhorns have been in the rankings since the new system was enacted in 2014.

The Longhorns have another chance to gain ground in the standings this week with a tough road test at Iowa State. The Cyclones are 5-4 on the year and coming off a near-upset of Oklahoma 42-41. Iowa State trailed that game 35-14 at halftime before outscoring the Sooners 27-7 in the second half. The game came down to a missed two-point conversion inside the final 30 seconds.

Texas started the year in the top 10 in both the coaches and AP polls, but fell after a loss to LSU and completely dropped out following losses to Oklahoma and TCU. They were ranked No. 22 in the coaches and No. 23 in the AP after beating Kansas State 27-24 this past week at DKR Memorial Stadium in Austin.

Other Big 12 teams ranked include Oklahoma (No. 10), Baylor (No. 13), Kansas State (No. 24) and Oklahoma State (No. 22).

Texas will play current No. 13 Baylor in two weeks in Waco in a game that will have CFP ranking and Big 12 Championship Game impact.

The Longhorns and Cyclones kick off in Ames at 2:30 p.m.

Iowa State is currently a seven-point favorite and -110 to win according to Vegas.com.
