Texas Longhorns football: Texas misses out on four-star safety
C.E. King safety Bryson Washington spurns Longhorns for Red River rival
Texas missed out on an elite safety prospect when four-star defensive back Bryson Washington chose Oklahoma over Texas on July 4.
Washington - the No. 15 safety in the country - narrowed down his choice to the two schools earlier this year and announced an Independence Day decision date.
The Longhorns are far from out of options at defensive back though. They are finalists for a trio of four-star safeties in Lathan Ransom, Chris Thompson Jr. and Xavion Alford.
