Can the Red Raider offense overcome a good TCU defense?

Texas Tech travels to Fort Worth for a game against the TCU Horned Frogs on Thursday night. TCU was once ranked as high as No. 15 this year, but since dropped out of the poll after back-to-back losses to Ohio State and Texas.

Here are a few Frogs that will have Texas Tech’s attention:

RB Darius Anderson

The junior out of Richmond, Texas, is a dynamic back who ranks in the top 10 in the Big 12 in rushing yards with 316. Last season, he received many accolades including Honorable-Mention All-Big 12, Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the Week, Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Play of the Week, and Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week. He was the leading back against SMU with 69 yards on nine carries and against Ohio State with 154 yards on 12 carries. He has two rushing touchdowns this season. Anderson has also been used as a receiver in three of the five games TCU has played.

WR Jalen Reagor

Reagor is just a sophomore, but his freshman season was no slouch. He appeared in every game for the Horned Frogs in 2017 and earned Big 12 Co-Offensive Freshman of the Year by totaling 576 receiving yards and eight touchdowns (the most by any true-freshman in the country). This season, Reagor ranks in the top 20 in the conference in receiving yards with 359 along with two touchdowns, and was the leading receiver in three of TCU’s games so far. Reagor, the son of former Texas Tech All-American Montae Reagor, was close to becoming a Red Raider legacy, but switched his commitment from Texas Tech to TCU and ultimately signed with the Horned Frogs.

DE Ben Banogu

The senior is a disruptive DE out of McKinney, Texas. Last year, he ranked second in the Big 12 in total sacks with nine. He combined for 49 total tackles and had three forced fumbles. This season, he already has six quarterback hurries, including 1.5 sacks for a loss of 10 yards. Banogu has 11 tackles, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery return for 47 yards. He’s an aggressive defender that Texas Tech’s OL will need to control.

BONUS: Linebackers

Seniors Ty Summers and Arico Evans, and sophomore Garret Wallow are a force to be reckoned with. They combine for a total of 83 tackles, six quarterback hurries and one pass breakup. With these guys, as well as Banogu, the Red Raider offense will have a lot of pressure coming their way.
