Last week’s 2-4 reverse cartwheel to a frontal face plant hurt more than usual because it involved Stanford failing to cover 16.5 against Notre Dame due to a strip fumble in the end zone that led to a late Leprechaun touchdown. That’s a BAD BEAT. It dropped Rankman & Son two games under .500 for the year at 40-42-2 and put increased pressure to finish strong this weekend. Tally going into the last Pick Six week. TEAM TMG is holding steady at 211-192-9 against the spread with Tony Barnhart gripping the top spot with his sterling record of 49-33-2 record. Herb Gould is second at 44-37-3 followed by Locksmith (44-38-2), Rankman & Son (40-42-2) and Jersey Gutter (34-42).

Father Knows Bets

Utah (-6.5) vs. Oregon

Father notes that Utah has to do more than defeat Oregon in Friday’s Pac 12 Championship Game. If possible, it has to put on a show for the CFP selection committee and score points any way possible.

The Pick: Utah

Ohio State vs. Wisconsin (56)

Father notes Ohio State’s vaunted and touted defense allowed 27 points to Michigan last week while the offense scored 38 the first time the Buckeyes defeated Wisconsin this year.

The Pick: Over

Oklahoma (-8.5) vs. Baylor

Father notes the Sooners defeated Baylor a few weeks ago after trailing, 31-10 at halftime. Odds are the Sooners will get out of the box a bit quicker for the Big 12 title-game rematch.

The Pick: Oklahoma

Son’s picks

Hawaii (+14) at BOISE STATE

Son notes Hawaii has played well on the road this year and also easily covered as two-point favorites last week at home against Army.

The Pick: Hawaii

LSU vs. Georgia (55.5)

Son says this number is way too low for a conference that is not as good defensively as everyone touts it to be. Son notes last week’s Iron Bowl between two highly-regarded SEC schools ended up with a point total in the 90s.

The Pick: Over

Alabama-Birmingham (+8) at FLORIDA ATLANTIC

Son likes UAB’s stout defense to hold FAU’s prolific in check in what should be a very entertaining Conference USA champ game.

The Pick: UAB
