Herb Gould Lots of people are wondering if Northwestern will have a letdown in its final two games because it has already clinched a berth in the Big Ten title game. I say, Phooey. First of all, Pat Fitzgerald doesn't lift off the pedal. Second, when you only play 12 to 15 games, not hard for players to get pumped up. And third, if Northwestern were to go to Pasadena at 6-6 after losing to Minnesota and Illinois, think of the ridicule, not to mention the damage to the psyche. Or, if the Wildcats lose the Big Ten championship game and fall to 6-7, what does that do to their bowl prospects? Bottom line: Northwestern has a ton to play for in its final two games.
