Is Big Game Bob back? The Sooners were stunned in a regular season meeting with Texas last season, but didn't lose for the remainder of the regular season. That got them into the College Football Playoffs where they were blown away by Clemson in the Orange Bowl.

Now another season is upon us and Coach Bob Stoops will begin the year with a very big game when the Sooners take on Houston in their opener. Two weeks later Ohio State comes to Norman. A week later, the Sooners travel to TCU. And the following week the Red River Rivalry in Dallas with Texas continues.[membership level="0"] The rest of this article is available to subscribers only - to become a subscriber click here[/membership] [membership]

The Sooners are good enough to win ALL of those games. They have Baker Mayfield at QB. They have enough talent at RB, WR and in the offensive line to make Mayfield a Heisman contender. They have enough star power returning on defense to shut people down.

So it comes down to Stoops, Big Game Bob, who's been at OU since 1999. OU won the national championship in 2000. They have won 9 Big 12 championships since 2000. Big Game Bob.

But in recent year's they have stumbled when the game meant the most, with the loss to Clemson being the latest disappointment.

So what will it be this season. The Good Big Game Bob or the Bad Big Game Bob?

We should know by October 1.
