Former Knight Terrance Plummer Makes to Orlando Guardians’ Opening Week Roster

Terrance Plummer to play for Orlando Guardians.

Former UCF Football player Terrance Plummer was named to the Orlando Guardians’ opening week roster for the 2023 XFL season, the team announced on Thursday.

The linebacker will be part of the franchise’s first season in Orlando. Previously, the organization played in New York. The Guardians relocated to Florida as part of the league’s relaunch after a $15 million purchase by a consortium including Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

In four seasons with UCF, Plummer appeared in 51 total games, registering 334 total tackles, four interceptions, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

He was part of the 2013-14 Knights squad that won the Fiesta Bowl against then-No. 6 Baylor. In the game, Plummer received the Fiesta Bowl Defensive MVP award. He was also a two-time First-Team All-American Athletic Conference member during his time at UCF.

Following his collegiate career, Plummer played three games in the NFL for the then-Washington Redskins and was part of the Minnesota Vikings’ practice squad. He then played in the Canadian Football League, the ceased Alliance of American Football and in the XFL prior to its suspension.

Plummer joins three other former Knights in the 2023 XFL season. Rannell Hall and Adrian Killins will play for the Arlington Renegades while Jordan McCray will suit up for the San Antonio Brahmas.

The 2023 XFL season is set to kick off on Feb. 18, just six days after Super Bowl LVII, as Plummer and the Guardians travel to face the Houston Roughnecks. They will have their home opener on Feb. 26 at the Camping World Stadium versus the Brahmas and former UCF teammate McCray.
