UCLA Football: College Football World Abuzz as Ethan Garbers Takes Helm Over True Freshman Dante Moore

All three QBs will play, but Garbers will be the main one under center

Earlier today, UCLA head coach Chip Kelly gave us the answer to the question we have all been waiting for-- who will be the QB1 to start the season?

We learned it will be redshirt junior and local kid Ethan Garbers. After two seasons at UCLA, Garbers will finally get his chance to shine as the QB1. Even after all the shine true freshman Dante Moore garnered throughout the offseason, he will have to wait it out.

The news broke early on the West Coast; however, that didn't stop college football fans from letting us hear them out, and let's just say it wasn't all positive reactions, especially toward Moore.

This isn't the end of the world for Moore. Kelly also announced that all three QBs, Moore and transfer QB Collin Schlee, will get some play time in Week 1 against Coastal Carolina.

For those who know Kelly, it doesn't come as a surprise as he did this in 2018, starting the transfer veteran Wilton Speight over true freshman QB at the time Dorian Thompson Robinson. Nothing is set in stone; this could all change by the midway point through the season.

Nonetheless, Garbers knows the system a bit more, being at Westwood for two years, and we cannot wait to see how Kelly uses all three QBs come Saturday.

Congratulations to Ethan, and we wish him luck in the season opener and beyond.
