Just like the old days.

With Coby White struggling through the first slump of his young NBA career, Roy Williams missed his radio show on Tuesday night to visit the rookie in Chicago.

According to Gregory Hall of Inside Carolina, Hubert Davis, who filled in on the show, said the Hall of Fame Coach took the trip for the sole purpose of encouraging his former point guard, who had hit just 18 of 62 field goal attempts over the past five games, averaging 9.6 points.

And just like he did so many times with Williams looking on last season, White put on a show, setting a new franchise record with seven fourth-quarter 3-pointers on his way to 27 points as the Bulls topped the New York Knicks 120-102 on Tuesday night at the United Center.

Williams, alongside Carolina's director of player development Eric Hoots, was loving it.

After beginning the fourth quarter with four points, it was White's first 3-pointer that put the Bulls ahead for good at the 11-minute mark, followed by another just 23 seconds later. His third straight from behind the arc made it 96-89 and Chicago never looked back.

That didn't stop White though, who stayed hot and knocked down four more from deep as the crowd chanted his name.

His final make came with 1:42 left on a 29-footer, bringing the crowd to its feet. He'd check out for good with 1:31 to go, earning another ovation — including Williams — from the crowd.

The victory moved the Bulls to 4-7 on the season ahead of a trip to Milwaukee to meet the Bucks on Friday night.

The 27 points set a new carer high for White, who topped the 20-point mark for the first time since a win over Memphis on Oct. 26. White is averaging 12.5 points on the season.
