Source: DJ Rodman commits to USC men's basketball, will team up with Bronny James

Rodman averaged 9.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game last year in 31 games for Washington State

The recruiting wins for the USC men's basketball team keep coming. Three days after the Trojans landed Bronny James, the son of NBA legend LeBron James, USC received a commitment from Washington State transfer DJ Rodman, according to a source involved in the recruitment. Rodman committed on Monday night on his official visit.

Rodman is the son of Dennis Rodman, who won five NBA championships in his playing career. The younger Rodman spent the last four seasons at Washington State. He averaged 9.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game last year in 31 games. Rodman shot 38.1% from three-point range as a senior. He'll use his final year of eligibility at USC.

ROSTER BREAKDOWN

Rodman gives USC the forward it so desperately needed with Drew Peterson graduating and Tre White transferring to Louisville.

We expect Rodman to start for USC next season alongside the guard trio of Boogie Ellis, Isaiah Collier and Kobe Johnson. USC's starting center will either be Joshua Morgan or Vincent Iwuchukwu.

If Trojans' head coach Andy Enfield decides to start a smaller lineup, it's possible James breaks into the first five. But right now, it's more likely James fills the sixth man void left following the transfer of Reese Dixon-Waters to San Diego State. Dixon-Waters was the Pac-12 Sixth Man of the Year in 2022-23.

The addition of Rodman puts USC at 11 scholarships for next season assuming James is on scholarship. The scholarship limit is 12, which means the Trojans may not be done in the transfer portal...

Stay tuned.
