I would like to know why Larry is allowed to give himself a bonus of 2.5 million (don't even start with the fact that the conference has free fallen in football and basketball during his tenure as well as the dollar amount per school of year end earnings). Arn't his bosses supposed to be the ones that ok his bonus if he deserves one. By the way, would you give your employee a bonus of any kind if you loaned him 7 million dollars to buy a lavish home some 7 or so years ago and he has yet to make one payment on that loan. Remember he makes more than twice what the next highest conference commissioner makes. Does he deserve it? Oh, wait, that's right the conference presidents and chancellors are asleep at the wheel. Where the F is the oversight on this guy. Just like the last 20 bone head moves he has made, he is tone def. Funny thing is, he and the presidents seem to be so concerned with public perception yet they think what ever they do behind closed doors won't ever get out. BTW Carol, you are just as bad, you need to have the school buy you an 8m dollar home free and clear instead of the university mansion because your new place is close to the beach. With your lavash salary that you don't even have to dip into for mortgage like the rest of us. Let them eat cake. Man leadership in this conference is a classic example of failing upwards. Larry had women's tennis floundering, but he was in Ivy league grad so he must know something. Big mistake. Carol, gets canned at UNC amidst multiple scandals in the academic and athletic departments. Abra Kadabra she is prez with a higher salary and a sweet heart deal. BOT is on crack. Multiply these bone head moves over 12 universities and now you know why the pac 12 will never rebound and tuition is so much. The same Libs whining about free tuition are the ones bleeding it dry from the inside.
There's gotta be something you left out...
Larry Scott is a two-bit prison punk
Pac 12 leadership is a freaking joke ( not a funny one)
Can the Pac-12 get through a day without controversy?
Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott reportedly gave out nearly $4 million in bonuses, including $2.5 million to himself, one month before he laid off or furloughed 94 employees, according to Jon Wilner of the San Jose Mercury News.
It's bad enough Scott gave out bonuses a month before cutbacks but he also did it during a pandemic.
Is Scott simply trying to squeeze out as much money as possible before he departs?
From a USC prespective, I think it's time for USC president Carol Folt or athletic director Mike Bohn to weigh in on this.
According to the report, around 50 employees got bonuses. That's fine for the ones who got laid off or furloughed. But it's usually the top executives that get the big biggest bonuses.
Imagine getting furloughed and hearing Scott got a $2.5 million bonus? How many jobs could have been saved if he declined it?
Once again, the Pac-12 creates negative news about itself.
