USC football recruiting update: Trojans among top schools for two offensive lineman prospects

Will Mike Williams pick and Andrew Sprague USC?

USC football made the cut for two recruiting targets on the offensive line in the last week.

On Thursday, four-star 2024 Missouri offensive tackle Andrew Sprague included USC in his top ten and on Saturday, three-star 2024 Maryland offensive tackle Mike Williams listed USC among his top eight.

Sprague, who's ranked as the No. 9 offensive tackle prospect in the country per 247Sports.com's composite, has Oklahoma, Michigan, LSU, Notre Dame, Oregon, Stanford, Missouri, Penn State and Nebraska as his other finalists. Sprague is 6-foot-8 and weighs 290 pounds.

Williams' other finalists are Michigan State, Miami, West Virginia, South Carolina, Maryland and Virginia Tech. Williams is ranked as the No. 86 tackle prospect nationally, but he's a recruit who will likely jump up in the rankings down the line due to standing at 6-foot-7, weighing 315 pounds and having so many top schools interested in his services.

Both prospect are expected to be on USC's campus next month, per 247Sports.com.

Here's what 247Sports.com has to say about Sprague as a prospect:

"Prototype tackle frame. Basketball player who showed really good coordination and ability on the court as a sophomore. His junior year in football, he filled in and grew into his body more and started becoming even more of a dominant force. He finishes his blocks and plays with aggression. Has solid bend for a taller guy. Can still continue to work on his footwork and general explosiveness. Has a lot of raw ability and is trending in the right direction judging on the strides made between his sophomore and junior years. Either tackle side is a possibility at this time although right now, he has played more on the left side and is comfortable there."
