Entering today's game, the Vanderbilt Commodores are heavy favorites over the visting UNLV Rebels, but can the Commodores play like a favorite and come away with only their second win of the season, and secure a "must win" game to keep their bowl hope alive.

Vanderbilt head coach Derek Mason made it clear earlier this week that while quarterback Riley Neal would start, backup Deuce Wallace, whom Mason said "has earned the right to see the field" will play against UNLV.

Regardless of which quarterback is in the game at any given time, the Commodores offense must stay ahead of the chains and keep the down and distance managable if they are to have offensive success, even against a UNLV squad whose defensive number on the season are not great.

Allowing 238.6 yards per game through the air and 218.4 yards per game on the ground, there are plays to be made and yards to gain against UNLV. The Commodores must be able to take advantage of what is available, and that starts behind center with the quarterbacks who must be able to move the football through the air this week.
