Florida State decided enough was enough with the Willie Taggart era after a 5-7 campaign in 2018 and a 4-5 start this season. SI’s Amy Campbell says Taggart will be just fine with his $17 million buyout, but his tenure if Tallahassee was a disaster out of the gate. Taggart’s Seminoles were one of the nation’s most penalized teams and are 0-3 combined against rivals Miami and Florida. Campbell adds that Taggart’s fate was inevitable and FSU chose to cut their losses now to being their coaching search.
