Coronavirus Causes XFL to Cancel Remainder of 2020 Regular Season

The XFL announced Thursday that it will be cancelling its remaining regular season games in 2020 due to concerns of the coronavirus. The decision follows the NBA, MLB, NHL and MLS, who all suspended their operations due to the pandemic. In an official press release the XFL said, “all players will be paid their base pay and benefits for the 2020 regular season. All XFL ticket holders will be issued refunds or credit towards future games. The XFL is committed to playing a full season in 2021 and future years.” Whether or not XFL postseason play has been cancelled has yet to be announced.
